Today, a nostalgic staple in 90’s hip-hop, St. Ides has returned better than ever. Known for its crooked “I” logo, the iconic malt liquor brand was upheld by the likes of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Tupac, Biggie, and WuTang. Partnering with the Weldon Angelos’ Project Mission Green, St. Ides is helping to bring more awareness to unjust non-violent cannabis convictions.
The new collaboration is truly a match made in hip-hop heaven. Angelos played a vital role as a producer back in the 90s and early 2000s alongside Death Row Records, Tupac, and Snoop Dogg. Back in 2013, Angelos was sentenced to a mandatory fifty-five-year sentence for selling $900 worth of marijuana. Following a national campaign, he would be released three years later. Now, he and his organization advocate on behalf of current and formerly incarcerated cannabis offenders. Fortifying a forty-year relationship with hip-hop culture, St. Ides and Angelo has created a potent line of products and a notable straining, the St. Ides “40”.
