Azealia Banks Says She Wants to Date Kanye West

Azealia Banks and Kanye West

Azealia Banks is looking for a shot at love with Kanye West.

The “212” rapper has expressed her interest in dating the newly-single Yeezy mogul. Taking to Instagram on Friday, Banks shared a recent headline that said Kanye was looking to date “an artist and a creative person” following his divorce from Kim Kardashian.

According to Banks, that person is her. “It’s me guys,” she wrote. “The powerful black demon entity awaiting in my ovaries and kanyes testicle is finally about to be unleashed upon the world. All of you ni**as are going to JAIL.”

Banks’ relationship status remains unclear. Back in February, she announced her engagement to artist and creative director Ryder Ripps. She showed off her gold engagement ring on Instagram and declared that she was “Jewish now.”

Kanye and Kim are in the process of getting a divorce after nearly seven years of marriage. Kanye requested joint legal and physical custody of their four children. Last week, Page Six reported that the 43-year-old rapper was looking to date “an artist and a creative person,” so “they can speak the same language to each other.”

Meanwhile, Banks has been teasing the long-awaited sequel to her 2012 debut mixtape Fantasea. “Fantasea Two is coming this summer sluts,” she wrote on Instagram Stories.

Melii Says She’s Quitting & Giving Away All Rights to Her Music

In a surprise announcement, Melii has revealed that she is quitting the music industry due to unfavorable circumstances.

The buzzing Harlem rapper, who also performs in Spanish, was seen by music fans as one of the most promising talents in recent times. She has worked with heavyweights like Lil Wayne, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, 6LACK, Tory Lanez, Meek Mill and more but hasn’t had a pleasant experience of dealing with industry stuff. She took to Twitter to announce that she has decided not to do music anymore. She also said she has given away all her rights to her music.

“The real reason I haven’t released music is because behind the scenes legally things have been going on but I decided as of today to give up all my rights to my music,” Melii wrote on Twitter on Friday before taking it down a little while later. “I no longer want to continue doing music off of the strength that in this business you can’t really trust,” she continued.

She further expressed her thoughts, saying, “I apologize to my fans but i don’t care to do music when it’s in other ppl hands and greed is the main reason. Aside from just legal stuff, I haven’t been myself not in this industry or environment. You never know peoples real intentions with you and I say this to say Do what you love but when it becomes draining, gets u paranoid, u don’t feel ur self anymore and or start can’t figure out who is really on ur side just take the high road.”

“There’s no need to live in a constant battle and being unsure of who is who. Ima leave off with saying that music was something that brung happiness to me and I rather keep that tiny bit of happiness that’s left to myself,” she signed off.

She did leave one tweet up on her account where she clarified that her thoughts had nothing to do with the team at Interscope Records. “Nothing I said had to do with Interscope or my current team. From pass interviews if anyone knows my story knows this is from past ppl.”

Melii has also disabled her Instagram account at the time of publishing of this article. Back in 2019, she signed with Tory Lanez’ One Umbrella Records after deciding not to go with Meek Mill’s DreamChasers label. She had shared in her now deleted Instagram posts that she experienced a number of “uncomfortable situations” while touring with the Philly rapper.

Lil Nas X’s Father Defends Him Against Claims He Doesn’t Help His Mother

Lil Nas X’s father is coming to his defense.

Earlier in the week, video surfaced of what appears to be Nas’ mother homeless on the streets of Atlanta begging for money. Without knowing the full story, social media critics slammed the “Montero” rapper for not taking care of his mom and getting her help despite all his success.

But his father won’t allow his son to be disparaged. Taking to Instagram on Thursday (April 15), Robert Stafford praised Nas as the “greatest kid” and addressed his mother’s complicated battle with drug addiction.

“Despite what people say @lilnasx is the greatest kid a parent can be BLESSED with,” he wrote. “Although his mom is in a struggle with an addiction she’s STILL a QUEEN and he goes through great lengths to make sure we’re taking care of. Those who have family members and friends dealing with addiction understands that there ain’t enough money you can throw at this situation to make it right.”

Stafford said he felt the need to speak out because people were trying to paint a false narrative. “I dont usually address personal issues publicly but felt like this need to be,” he added. “Please join us in keeping her in your PRAYERS. And to those out there trying to create a false story you wont prosper.”

Nas has not addressed the video, but in an interview with Variety last year, he spoke about his estranged relationship with his mother, while revealing that he tried to get her into a recovery program. “I never really talk about my mom. She’s an addict so we don’t have the closest relationship,” he said. “Even trying to get her better — things didn’t quite work out. But there’s still love.”

He also opened up about his newfound relationship with fame. “The biggest surprise of becoming globally famous? On the outside, everybody loves you — but on the inside, everything [feels] the same.”

Nas earned his second No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this month with “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).” On Tuesday, he announced that the song was being removed from streaming services. However, the issue appears to have been resolved.

Lovey The Don breaks from mold with “Stoopid” [Video]

NC Rapper Lovey The Don aims for the jugular on her new song “Stoopid” alongside a vibrant anime-inspired music video. The emerging rapper had recently put out her mixtape The Don Mother, a 10-track body of work that showcases raw emotions, unapologetic bravado-laden rhymes over off-beat trap bangers. Her latest single “Stoopid” is the prime example of bravado on wax as Lovey The Don sets it off, carefully dishing out vivid threats to the opposition and naysayers over Aiedyn Woods‘ sparse but booming trap backdrop.

The anime-inspired visual is helmed by Braxton Langston-Chapman who brings Lovey The Don’s offbeat personality to the screen. She plays a katana-wielding heroine, dressed in a sailor girl outfit (reminiscent of Sakura from the Street Fighter video game series) and she is out for revenge, cutting down foes with every bar and stanza. The video is quite zany to some degree and lends it strength to Lovey’s electrifying persona that switches between scary, nonchalant and animated. The act of violence is quite justified as Lovey adds that we as a people have a right to defend ourselves and maintain our inner peace from everyday stupidity.

Lovey The Don burst through the scene in 2015 with her debut EP The Futuristic EP and her second body of work The Don Mother was recently released on the 2nd of April,2021.

St. Ides teams up with the Weldon Project for their new cannabis line

Today, a nostalgic staple in 90’s hip-hop, St. Ides has returned better than ever. Known for its crooked “I” logo, the iconic malt liquor brand was upheld by the likes of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Tupac, Biggie, and WuTang. Now making a return to the mainstream, St. Ides has refreshed its brand with a new line of premium cannabis products. Partnering with the Weldon Angelos’ Project Mission Green, St. Ides is helping to bring more awareness to unjust non-violent cannabis convictions.

Back in 2013, Angelos was sentenced to a mandatory fifty-five-year sentence for selling $900 worth of marijuana. Following a national campaign, he would be released three years later. Now, he and his organization advocate on behalf of current and formerly incarcerated cannabis offenders. Fortifying a forty-year relationship with hip-hop culture, St. Ides and Angelo has created a potent line of products and a notable straining, the St. Ides “40”. From high THC-packed products to 2g diamond-infused joints, there’s plenty of ways to celebrate the culture while getting lifted. Fort hose who may not be into the herb, St. Ides has also released their new 94 merch collection. The iconic crooked “I” insignia will once again adorn hoodies, jerseys, crewnecks, tees, and much more. Check out the capsule here.
