Machine Gun Kelly Debuts Slashed Neck Tattoo

Machine Gun Kelly

Machine Gun Kelly is adding some bloody new ink to his body.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the “Bloody Valentine” rapper revealed his latest tattoo of a red slash that goes down his throat and over his Adam’s apple. “bye bye neck,” he captioned the pics.

He also shared video of himself going under the needle. “If anyone ever liked my neck, it’s gonna look different,” warned MGK, who will celebrate his 31st birthday on Thursday (April 22).

The post received over 1 million likes from fans, who thought the slit was real. “Thought that was a legit slice in ur neck,” wrote one, while another added, “I almost had a heart attack thinking it was a real scar.”

The jarring new tat sits above a tattoo with the name of his latest album, Tickets to My Downfall. His body is covered in other tats including one that says North 71, representing the interstate in his hometown of Cleveland, while his back is inked with Salvador Dali’s masterpiece, The Temptation of St. Anthony.

MGK’s bloody fixation continues. Back in February, he showed off an orb necklace appearing to contain a drop of his girlfriend Megan Fox’s blood.

Swizz Beatz Reportedly Asked Kanye West to Appear at DMX’s Memorial Service

Swizz Beatz, Kanye West, and DMX

DMX’s family and friends will celebrate his life at a memorial service, which may include an appearance from Kanye West.

According to Page Six, Swizz Beatz has reached out to Yeezy to ask him to participate in the ceremony at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center this weekend.

DMX, who was known for his faith, delivered a prayer at Kanye’s Sunday Service series in 2019 after Kanye reached out to him. “I wouldn’t call it a church service. There’s no word,” X told GQ that year. “It’s joyful, which God says to do. We about to make a joyful noise. I enjoyed it. It was moving. I didn’t know what to expect, though. I didn’t know what to expect.”

The Ruff Ryders icon also led a prayer when Kanye brought Sunday Service to Coachella in April 2019.

DMX’s memorial will be held Saturday, April 24, two weeks after the 50-year-old rapper died after suffering a heart attack caused by a drug overdose. The service won’t be open to the public and will have limited capacity due to COVID-19.

Tracey Phipps delivers summer anthem titled “What I Want”

Emerging DC-born singer/songwriter Tracey Phipps caught our attention with her unique blend of Latin and Caribbean infused R&B style on her new record “What I Want.” The record is a punchy, summertime anthem that showcases her commanding vocals and uplifting demeanor. The summertime record is exactly what we need right about now, and Phipps delivers a sun-drenched and warm performance ripe with an alluring melodic run and layered harmonies for us to rock with.

She puts pen to paper over the mid-tempo, dreamy backdrop and lets her innermost emotions roam free far away from the detractors and party poppers. Casting her fears aside, she details how she is living her best life and being comfortable in her skin regardless of what people might say. She sure doesn’t conform to other people’s standards and croons “I just wanna pull up whenever I want, white tees with some jeans on” and live her life as a regular, everyday girl. “What I Want” is off the Neyo-hosted RNBNext Volume 2 Album and will probably be on Phipps forthcoming debut EP.

ELHAE passionately serenades us in ‘Aura III’

Georgia-native ELHAE returns with a passion-filled project titled Aura III with features from Rick Ross and Masego. This project will undoubtedly speak to your soul through the graceful production and sweet delivery in the most gentle way possible.

Aura III is a unique continuation of Aura II, which ELHAE dropped in 2017, being a Billboard-charting EP. Aura III will undoubtedly leave an even greater impact, as his talent finds a way to give us butterflies through every single sensual song.

On “Fun Fact,” we are instantly introduced to ELHAE’s mesmerizing vocals, as he smoothly serenades us while hitting unreachable notes. The sweet hook automatically reels us in with delightful lyrics such as, “I can’t control this feeling baby I / Need some sexual healing baby, I /.”  When Rick Ross comes on the track, his effortless flow and satisfying wordplay beautifully contribute to the sensual nature of this track. “Fun Fact” undeniably has an infinite number of healing components, especially through the light production, mostly due to the classic piano keys that are being gently played throughout.

Once again, in “My City,” ELHAE introduces radiant piano keys to the background sounds, creating a sonically fascinating light production. Both Masego’s and ELHAE’s voice blend beautifully together, creating a heavenly atmosphere as soon as this song comes on. Through clever songwriting, such as “If you say you want it/ You got it/ It’s all in the fine print/,”  these two artists create another indisputable hit for the ladies.

On “Separated,” ELHAE is not afraid to display his raw emotions. Through intense songwriting, such as “How could I blame you / Stupid me for thinking I could change you / Hold me down or elevate you or educate you/ In the ways of love /,”  he shows us his poetic, more vulnerable side. Sweetly serenading us with his powerful voice over chimes in the sound, he is definitely able to mend our broken hearts.

Overall, through the dream-like sounds in the production and the poetic songwriting, ELHAE gives us a feel of his alluring aura in Aura III

Acebergtm Wants to Be the Next Star Out of Nigeria

Africa has had its foot on the gas lately when it comes to new emerging talent. No wonder that major music companies are now looking at the continent for empowering creators and in turn making bigger bucks for themselves.

One promising artist that recently hit our radar is Acebergtm out of Nigeria. Aceberg, real name Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, was born in Lagos where he grew up being the second child in a family of five children. Ace listened to a variety of music growing up but Afrobeats and Hip-Hop were definitely at the forefront with Wyclef Jean being one of his favorite artists, and biggest influences.

“Growing up as a kid, music turned out to be my only escape from peer pressure and other vices which kids my age were involved in such as smoking and street fighting; I got a strong sense of peace and satisfaction every time I heard my favorite songs growing up. My interest grew even more as I got older, I wanted to write, sing, rap, perform just like my favorite artists I saw on tv,” he said on his early years.

It was in 2013 that Aceberg started to take music seriously and consider it as one of his career choices. Since then, he has consistently put out music and amassed millions of streams already. But with the release of his latest EP Far From Home, he is looking to establish himself as the next superstar out of Nigeria, following the footsteps of global powers like Burna Boy and Wizkid.

With a refreshing mix of Afrobeats, R&B and Rap backed by quality production, we liked the 6 song EP so much that we decided to feature it on HHNM. Stream it above and peep our Q&A with the rising talent below.

You do a variety of vocals while most of the bigger artists from the region either sing or rap. What made you embrace both equally?

My goal as an artist is to attract a lot of fans and doing the both gives me an advantage. It started from trying to get nice hooks for my rap verses and then I got better with time.

There’s a lot of interest from major labels in Africa now. What do you feel about that and would you like to be with a major if given the opportunity?

I currently have a strong and supportive label but if a common ground can be established between both parties maybe yes.

Who are your biggest influences?

I would say J. Cole & Drake

What are your future plans? Are you working on a full length album?

Yes, I’ve been putting a lot of work in the studio, recording with other artists so there’s much more to expect in the future.
